Samarkand
The Challenge
Following an inspiration trip to the beautiful city of Samarkand (apparently even Alexander the Great was flabbergasted at it’s beauty) we gave ourselves the task of creating a premium restaurant worthy of it’s illustrious name in a central London basement site.
The Solution
The branding is based upon when Samarkand was at the forefront of astronomy in the 15th Century and involves the various constellations. The interiors are inspired by the architecture and temples, balancing the authentic materials, colours and craft in harmony with contemporary London style. Making this a sumptuous space for dining.

“Uzbekistan-inspired restaurant Samarkand is brimming with unique and charming design details. Hexagonal tables surrounded by hand-carved columns open onto a striking blue-back exposed kitchen, and delicate chandeliers emulate the starry skies above founder Sanjar Nabiev’s childhood home.”
