The Windmill Club

Interior, Hospitality, Strategy

Back

Interior design and strategy for iconic cabaret club made famous for never closing during the war and immortalised in the film Mrs Henderson presents. Unfortunately the Windmill had succumbed to the seedier side of Soho more recently, allowing us the opportunity to redesign the club as a more premium cabaret, late night venue and restaurant.

The design was influenced by the early part of the last century in the styling, referencing the club's heyday. Taking the rich history we created a 3 tier theatre, with each level named after one of the many names the club had been called, from the Revudeville entrance level, the Palais de Luxe upper level to the royal box Playhouse – each with greater levels of luxurious tones. The basement was converted into a premium members club and named Hendersons in honour of the original owner. Experience touch points including a private karaoke room and a luxurious powder room along with animated signage are dotted throughout the club.
